Booking Terms & Conditions
At Katherine Art Makeup, we aim to provide a smooth, professional and transparent experience for every client.
These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to all bridal, event, trial and other beauty services booked with Katherine Art Makeup.
By paying a deposit or making full payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Booking Terms & Conditions.
1. Bookings & Confirmation
All bookings are subject to availability.
Your appointment or wedding date is not secured or held until the required deposit has been received.
Until the deposit is received, Katherine Art Makeup reserves the right to accept another booking for the same date and time.
The person making the booking is responsible for providing accurate booking information and ensuring that all members of their bridal party or group are aware of the relevant preparation and timing requirements.
2. Deposits
A deposit is required to secure your booking.
All wedding booking deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, including in the event of cancellation, change of date, change of mind or change in personal circumstances, subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
The deposit is applied towards the total booking amount.
Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of these Booking Terms & Conditions.
3. Standard Appointments, Cancellations & Rescheduling
Standard appointments, including trials and non-wedding appointments, may be rescheduled subject to availability.
Deposits for standard appointments become non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled appointment.
Any request to reschedule should be made as early as possible and is subject to availability.
Late arrivals may result in a shortened service or the need to reschedule, depending on artist availability.
4. Final Payment
The remaining balance must be paid in full by the due date stated on your invoice and before services are provided.
Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking.
Any additional services, travel charges, early-start fees or other agreed costs must also be paid by the applicable due date.
5. Wedding Cancellations
Your wedding date and artist availability are specifically reserved for your booking, and other enquiries for the same date may be declined once your booking is confirmed.
Cancellations made close to the wedding date may result in some or all of the remaining confirmed booking value becoming payable where permitted by applicable law.
6. Changes to Bridal Party Numbers & Services
Your wedding booking is secured based on the number and type of services confirmed at the time of booking.
Additional services may be added subject to artist availability and sufficient time within the wedding schedule.
Requests to reduce the number of booked services must be made in writing at least 30 days before the wedding date.
Within 30 days of the wedding, booked services cannot be reduced and the original confirmed booking value remains payable, even if a member of the bridal party no longer requires their service or is unable to attend.
Any approved changes must be confirmed by Katherine Art Makeup in writing.
7. Minimum Booking Requirements
On-location bookings may be subject to a minimum booking value or minimum number of services depending on the date, location, travel requirements and number of artists required.
If services are subsequently removed from a confirmed booking, the applicable minimum booking value will continue to apply.
8. Getting-Ready Location & Travel
Travel fees are calculated based on the getting-ready location provided at the time of booking.
If the getting-ready location changes after your booking has been confirmed, the travel fee may be recalculated based on the new location, distance, travel time and artist requirements.
Please notify us of any location changes as early as possible.
If the bridal party changes getting-ready locations during the wedding morning, requiring our artist(s) to pack equipment, travel and set up again at another location, an additional travel and re-set-up fee will apply.
Changes of location are also subject to the wedding timeline and artist availability. We cannot guarantee that a location change can be accommodated if it affects the agreed completion time.
9. Parking, Tolls & Venue Charges
The client is responsible for any parking fees, valet charges, road tolls, venue access fees or similar expenses reasonably incurred by our artists in connection with the booking.
Where possible, suitable parking should be arranged close to the getting-ready location, as our artists travel with professional kits and equipment.
Any applicable charges may be added to the final invoice.
10. Wedding Morning Timeline
Katherine Art Makeup will provide or confirm an appropriate beauty schedule based on the number of services booked and the required completion time.
All members of the bridal party must be available and ready to begin their service at their allocated time.
We recommend completing bridal hair and makeup approximately 1.5–2 hours before the ceremony, allowing time for dressing, photography, final preparations and travel to the ceremony location.
11. Late Arrivals & Delays
Late arrivals, bridal party members not being ready at their scheduled time, interruptions or other delays outside the control of Katherine Art Makeup may affect the services we are able to provide within the agreed timeframe.
Where necessary, a service may be shortened or adjusted to keep the wedding morning schedule on time.
No refund or price reduction will be provided for services shortened or unable to be completed due to client or bridal party delays.
Additional time, where available, may incur an additional charge.
12. Hair Preparation
Unless otherwise advised by your artist, hair should be freshly washed on the morning of your appointment.
Please shampoo twice and apply conditioner to the ends only.
Do not use hair oils, masks, leave-in treatments, styling products or hot tools such as straighteners before your appointment.
Please arrive with completely dry hair unless otherwise instructed.
Failure to follow the preparation instructions may affect the final result, longevity of the hairstyle and the time required to complete the service.
13. Skin Preparation
Please follow any skin preparation instructions provided before your appointment.
Avoid introducing new or potentially irritating skincare treatments immediately before your wedding or appointment.
Skin condition, texture, hydration and preparation can affect how makeup applies and wears throughout the day.
14. Allergies, Sensitivities & Medical Conditions
Clients must inform Katherine Art Makeup before their service of any known allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, reactions or relevant medical conditions that may affect the safe provision of hair, makeup or skincare services.
Please also advise your artist immediately if you experience discomfort or irritation during a service.
Where appropriate, Katherine Art Makeup may modify or decline a product or service if there is a reasonable concern regarding client safety.
15. Reference & Inspiration Images
We welcome reference and inspiration images to help communicate your preferred style.
Reference photographs are used as inspiration and do not guarantee an identical result.
Hair texture, length, density, skin type, facial features, colouring and other individual characteristics can affect how a particular style or makeup look appears.
Our artists will use their professional judgement to adapt your chosen inspiration to suit you while maintaining the overall aesthetic of the requested look.
16. Artist Substitution
In the event that your scheduled artist becomes unavailable due to illness, emergency or circumstances outside our reasonable control, Katherine Art Makeup may arrange another suitably qualified artist from our team to provide the booked services.
We will make every reasonable effort to maintain your confirmed services, quality standards and wedding timeline.
17. Severe Weather, Unsafe Travel & Events Outside Our Control
Katherine Art Makeup will make every reasonable effort to fulfil confirmed bookings.
However, circumstances outside our reasonable control — including severe weather, flooding, road closures, natural disasters, accidents, government restrictions or unsafe travel conditions — may affect our ability to reach the location or provide services as scheduled.
The safety of our clients and artists will always take priority.
Where such circumstances occur, we will communicate with you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to determine the most appropriate solution, subject to applicable Australian Consumer Law.
18. Photography, Video & Behind-the-Scenes Content
Katherine Art Makeup may photograph or record our work, including finished hair and makeup and behind-the-scenes content, for our portfolio, website, social media and promotional purposes.
If you do not wish to be photographed, filmed or have your images used by Katherine Art Makeup, please notify us in writing before your appointment or wedding day.
We will respect all written opt-out requests.
19. Written Agreements & Booking Changes
Any changes to services, pricing, timing, locations, artist arrangements or other booking details are valid only when confirmed in writing by Katherine Art Makeup.
Verbal conversations or arrangements do not amend the confirmed booking unless subsequently confirmed in writing.
20. Pricing & Quotes
Prices listed on the Katherine Art Makeup website are subject to change without notice.
Quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise specified.
Once a booking has been confirmed and the required deposit has been received, the pricing confirmed for that booking will apply unless the client subsequently requests changes or additional services.
Travel fees and other applicable charges may be adjusted where booking details, locations or service requirements change.
21. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Booking Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where these Booking Terms & Conditions are inconsistent with a right that cannot legally be excluded, that right will prevail.
